Essential oils to fight colds and flu





Herbs and oils are one of the oldest drugs. Oregano, lemon, cinnamon, frankincense, peppermint and eucalyptus are well known and effective against colds and flu.



Herbal essences from plants and seeds are the first medicines of our ancestors. In the modern world, often re-turn to natural remedies that are sometimes more effective than drugs and antibiotics. When it comes to colds and flu, essential oils such as oregano, cinnamon, frankincense, lemon, eucalyptus and peppermint can help.



Essential oils contain hundreds of molecules that work together to kill viruses and bacteria. Viruses do not develop resistance to essential oils, because every batch of oil is unique, depending on season, temperature, wind, rain, harvest time, and still many other factors. For this reason, the oils can be effective in fighting colds and flu.

When it comes to colds and influenza, use of oil early and often! It is easy to reject the common cold with a little essential oil of cinnamon or oregano if you start early enough, when you cough or sore throat starts, but before you get sick completely.



Oregano

One of the most popular essential oils to treat problems such as colds and flu, or warts. Oregano oil is considered to be hot, and it should be used cautiously. Do not apply on face and neck without having to dilute it first with pure olive oil or other fatty oils. If you spilled on your face, dilute it with butter or oil, not water! Oregano is best applied to the back, shoulders and feet.



Lemon

Lemon is great for boosting the immune system from within. Add a drop or two of every glass of water during the day, or use it in capsules. Lemon should not be applied to the skin.



Cinnamon

Another hot oil, cinnamon is great for boosting the immune system, pancreas and digestive system (in Chinese medicine for pancreas / spleen related to the immune system). Apply to the legs or breathe it.



Incense

One of the most powerful oil to boost immunity. Otherwise it's expensive, but worth every penny. Incense is beneficial for the skin and can be applied anywhere.



The peppermint and eucalyptus oils are cold and soothing, clean the respiratory system and ease breathing. Can be applied directly to the neck, throat, chest and back, or inhaled.



The same essential oils used to treat colds or the flu can be used for the prevention of these diseases. If your workplace is contaminated, or someone from their family is ill, then it is a good time to begin using essential oils. You can apply them less frequently, but in the same way in order to apply them that you are sick.
